Morton Cohen's Obituary
Morton Cohen, 90, of Allegro Senior Living in Boynton Beach passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2019. Morton and his beloved wife Tobe were former residents of Tivoli Reserve in Boynton Beach and were married for 63 years until her passing in 2016. Morton was born in New Haven, CT and came to Florida from Potomac, MD. He was a proud Army veteran having served in the Signal Corp. He was a lifelong amateur radio enthusiast and was a member of the American Radio Relay League. Morton enjoyed a career as an executive in the aerospace and electronics industry and was awarded a lifetime membership in the IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, in recognition of his accomplishments in the aerospace industry. Morton was very active in his Tivoli Reserve Homeowners Association and served as president. Morton was the devoted father of David Cohen, Peter (Denise) Cohen, and Cynthia Cohen; the proud grandfather of Jordan, Amanda, and Sarah; and the dear brother of Bernard (Karin) Cohen and Helen (Buddy) Mellion. Chapel services will be held at 11:15 AM on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by interment with military honors at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. Those wishing to make a contribution in Morton’s memory are asked to consider any favorite charity.
