Morton Slapin's Obituary
Morton Slapin, 89, of the Cascades community in Boynton Beach, FL passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Morton and Evelyn, his beloved wife of 66 years, lived in Huntington, LI, and spent 25 years in Belbroughton, England before coming to Florida. Before retirement, he was involved in the import business. His family described Morton as generous and thoughtful with a great sense of humor. His gregarious nature quickly turned strangers into friends, and he encouraged everyone to live up to their full potential. Morton was also a proud veteran of the US Army. In addition to his wife Evelyn, Morton was the devoted father of Robin (John) Malloy and Stephanie Slapin; and the cherished grandfather of Paul, William, Hannah, and Sophia. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11:15 AM Monday February 11, 2019 at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Rabbi Aviva Bass of Temple Sinai of Palm Beach County, where both Morton and Evelyn are members, will officiate.
