Murray Bergman's Obituary
Murray Bergman, 85, of Boynton Beach passed away Wednesday March 21, 2018. Formerly of Woodmere and Lynbrook in Long Island, Murray and his wife were original residents of the Ponte Vecchio community in Boynton Beach. Murray owned and operated the well known Garfield’s Cafeteria at the intersection of Flatbush and Church Avenues in Brooklyn for many years, and continued his work in all aspects of the food service industry after its closing. A proud veteran, he served for 8 years in the United States Coast Guard. Murray was the beloved husband of Nona for more than 58 years; the devoted father of Barry (Beth) Bergman and Robert (Gianna) Bergman; cherished grandfather of Jason, Taylor, Blake, Alexandra,and Jed; and dear brother of Irwin and Melvin Bergman. Chapel services will be held 3PM on Sunday March 25, 2018 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Burial with military honors will take place 10:15 AM on Monday March 26, 2018 at South Florida National Cemetery.
