Murray Sheldon Goldstein's Obituary
Murray Goldstein was born in New York City to Sam and Ray Goldstein in 1930. They lived at 1883 Southern Boulevard in the Bronx. Murray received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from City College of New York. He worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and then served in the Army from September 1952 – February 1954. After discharge, he worked for the Polaris Program and gained his Master’s Degree in Control Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. Subsequently he joined Singer/KearfottGEC as an aerospace engineer and worked there (with the company having many names due to acquisitions) for 37 years, retiring in 1995. He holds several patents in technologies in the fields of strapdown and gimballed space inertial systems and gyrocompassing. After retirement he was asked to work in a startup company, Bell Geospace with a second retirement in 1998. For most of his career at Kearfott (New Jersey), he lived in Rockland County, New York with his family. In 1995, he and his wife Esther moved to Royal Landings, Coral Lakes in Boynton Beach, Florida. Murray was active in tennis, bowling, computer club, citizens on patrol (COP), and served in various board positions including President for the community. He was predeceased by his brother Rubin, his beloved wife of 62 years Esther, and is survived by his daughter Michelle (David), daughter Alisa (Lee), and son Steven (Angela) and five grandchildren Shmuel (Debra), Rebecca, Jordan, Erin, Ryan and two greatgrandchildren Adira, Eitan and many other loving friends and relatives.
A funeral chapel service will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (Boynton location) at 11am on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. 11115 Jog Road Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Interment will Follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
