Nancy Steinman's Obituary
Badri (Nancy) Pourian Steinman passed away on May 31 in Parkland, Florida. She was 92 years old. She was the beloved widow of Robert C. Steinman (1931–1999).
Nancy was born in Tehran, Iran, and immigrated to the United States alone in 1957. Arriving in a new country while still learning the language, she built a remarkable life through determination and resilience. She earned a degree in X-ray technology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a few years later was joined by her mother and brother. Around that time, she met her husband at a college gathering while he was attending Drexel University.
Later in life, Nancy pursued her passion for interior design, bringing beauty, warmth, and elegance into her home. She had a natural talent for creating inviting spaces, filled with thoughtful details, beautiful furnishings, and treasured Persian rugs. She was known for her gracious hospitality, her delicious home-cooked meals, and her commitment to gathering her family together each evening.
Her home was always filled with family and community. Relatives visiting from near and far would gather late into the night, sharing stories, laughter, and tea—memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her children, Shirley Steinman Kessel, Susan Steinman Koosha, and Robert Mark Steinman. She was the proud grandmother of Jeriel Kessel Weitz, Julia Kessel, Sydney Kessel, Austin Koosha, Robert Koosha, Sophia Koosha, Griffin Steinman, Chloe Steinman, and Wyatt Steinman, and the great-grandmother of Poppy, Eloise, and Teddy Weitz. She is also survived by nephew, Ali Pourian, her son-in-law Aurang Koosha, daughter-in-law Amy Steinman and grandmother-in-law David Weitz, Gabby Koosha and Karmen Dephillippo as well as many extended family members who were dear to her.
Funeral services will be held at Toppitzer Funeral Home in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania on June 8, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miles for Migraine.
