Norma Kaplan's Obituary
Norma Kaplan, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Thursday July 17, 2025. Norma grew up in the Bronx, New York. She and her husband Howard, who predeceased her, raised their sons Mark and Gary in Ossining, New York. Norma attended nursing school at Syracuse University but ultimately decided not to enter nursing, and she spent many years working as an office manager and bookkeeper for a pool supply company. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, and enjoyed cooking and games of canasta and mahjong with friends. Norma and Howard retired to Wellington, Florida in the 1990’s where Norma maintained an active social life and enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren at Wycliffe Golf and Country Club. She also served as President of the Wycliffe Women’s 18 Golf Association. Norma moved to Jacksonville in 2022 to live near Gary and Gary’s wife Carla. Norma is survived by her sons Mark and Gary; daughter-in-law Carla; granddaughters Caroline (and Caroline’s husband Matt), Jessica, and Tanner; grandson Jacob (and Jacob’s wife Lexie); and great-granddaughter Ellie.
