Norman Sachs
August 21, 1932 – January 8, 2024
Norman Sachs,91 of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 8th. Norm is survived by his beloved wife Irma, to whom he was married for almost 70 years, children Shari and Cliff, grandchildren Nicole, Janna, Steven, and David, and great-grandchildren Aubrey and Owen.
Norm was born in Bronx, New York, the son of Pearl and Irving Sachs and younger brother to Marvin Sachs. He graduated high school from Dewitt Clinton HS and obtained a BA from New York University. He served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.
Norm was the quintessential salesman, who took great pride in his work. Over the course of his career he sold sporting goods, school and medical uniforms, fine gifts and collectibles, and even dialysis machines.
Norm was a passionate reader of history and non-fiction books. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and an exceptional athlete who excelled at baseball/softball, tennis, and running. Norm was a founding member and coach of the Earl Schiff Spring Valley Little League in Rockland County, NY. He served in a variety of leadership roles at his condominium community, Platina in Boynton Beach, including board member and head of the entertainment committee for many years. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 12:15 pm with a committal to follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
