Philip Kushner's Obituary
Philip Kushner, 95, of Lakeridge in Boynton Beach passed away Thursday April 5, 2019. Born and raised in Brooklyn NY he came to Florida with his wife Joan in 1990 from the New York area. Philip was a proud WW II Army Veteran where he served with the 533 Bombardment Squadron as an airplane mechanic. He was Vice President of Big Yank Men’s Clothing and maintained his office in the Empire State Building. He loved his sports, especially his New York Knicks and was a great golfer who maintained a 4 handicap. He also was delighted to share his experience of having Babe Ruth as the 3rd base coach on his softball team. He counted among his sterling accomplishments learning to use his iPhone at the age of 88.
Philip was the beloved husband of Joan for 70 years; the devoted father of Drew Kushner, Dr. Glenn (Dr. Martha) Kushner, and his late son Bruce Kushner; the cherished grandfather of Joshua Kushner, Matthew (Nicole) Kushner, Dr. Michelle (Dr. Ross) Feldgreber, Adam Kushner, and Noah Kushner; the loving great grandfather of Aria Isabel Kushner and Lily Reese Kushner; and the dear brother of Jerry (Claire) Kushner and the late Gloria Dornstein.
Chapel services will be held at 12:15 PM Monday, April 8, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by interment at South Florida National Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Philip with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider the PapCorps for Cancer Research, Boynton Beach Chapter.
