Poppy was truly a wonderful man, as he was a loving father, grandfather, and a really great family member to me, my sisters, cousins, and to everyone in the family. He could always make me laugh, smile, and brighten up my day whenever I was feeling completely down. What I also loved about Poppy was that he would make time to call me up on the telephone and converse in which I always loved and enjoyed so much. He always gave such wonderful advice, along with helping me to become a strong man inside and out, and of course doing all the right things for myself, family, friends, acquaintances, and in everyday life too.
Like for example, I remember when I went for my interview at Goodwill back in 2012, and after telling him and Nanny about it, along with my former boss saying welcome aboard, they told me that I got the job because if my boss didn't say welcome aboard, then I wouldn't have had the job at all. It truly gave me some inspiration after second guessing myself and the whole working process, and after he told me about his work history of resigning from a restaurant to work at the Grand Union supermarket a long time ago.
Another thing that I remember about Poppy was that he and Nanny took trips with my family and I to Disney World from when my siblings and I were growing up as kids. A cruise too back in November of 1996. It was quite an adventure from what I experienced and feel in the bottom of my heart.
Another thing I remember was playing board games with Poppy like Life, Monopoly, cards, Go Fish, Uno, Sorry, Memory, Basketball, and going to the Speedway 17 go cart derby with him and my dad when I was 12.
I also remember going bowling with Poppy as a little boy as well, as he was quite a great bowler and scored up to the 200 to the 300 range in which I have always found to be amazing.
I also remember taking walks with Poppy around the neighborhood and having a really warm and heartfelt conversation, along with sharing laughter with each other as well. Something I will always cherish and honor for a really long time.
Even during the Jewish holidays, birthday parties, anniversaries, and other family gatherings is another fond memory I have had with Poppy, along with sitting next to him at meal times and while watching tv with him as well.
I am going to miss you so much Poppy, along with the fun and positive things we have shared together as a family.
You are always in my heart, as you will be greatly missed by everyone in the family.
I love you forever. I like you for always. As long as I'm living, my poppy you will be. (From the book called "Love You Forever" that I used to read as a little boy.
May God Rest your soul and spirit, and please watch over on all of us in the family, and if you see Grandpa Al, please send him our love, and that we all say hello.
My mom also sends her love, prayers, comfort, and warm wishes to you as I do.
God bless you and everyone in the family once again.
