Dr. Raphael "Ray" Minsky, a beacon of intelligence, generosity, and resilience, passed away on February 3rd, 2025, at JFK Hospital in West Palm Beach. Born on July 27th, 1929, in Nyack, New York, Ray dedicated his life to his family and cherished every moment spent with them.
A man of profound loyalty and support, Ray was known for bringing joy into the lives of those around him. His passions for travel 📚 readin, and ⚽️ sports were only surpassed by his love for his family and his beloved dogs—Gracie, Menace, and Fiona. One of his most treasured memories was surprising his granddaughter Lauren on her 18th birthday by taking the entire family to pick out new canine companions, a testament to his generous spirit.
Family gatherings were the cornerstone of Ray's life. He reveled in celebrating Passover, enjoying Father’s Day backyard barbecues, indulging in crab brunches, and embarking on yachting adventures with his wife
Rita and their family. Monthly outings with his beloved daughter Dara and the simple joy of bringing the dogs to the office highlighted his commitment to creating cherished moments.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Rita Minsky; his daughter, Dara Minsky; his son, Eric Minsky; and his grandchildren, Lauren Soto Beasley, Lexis Funderburk, Ethan Minsky, Lilliana Beasley, and Joshua Beasley. He was preceded in passing by his son, Adam Minsky, and his brother, Herschel Minsky.
In honor of Ray's compassionate heart and his love for animals, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be generously made to no-kill animal shelters. This gesture reflects Ray's enduring legacy of kindness and his wish to make a positive impact.
A graveside service will be held on February 7th, 2025, at 10:00 AM to celebrate Ray's remarkable life and the profound influence he had on those who knew him.
Ray's memory will continue to inspire all who were touched by his unwavering love, generosity, and the exquisite soul he shared with the world.
