Ray Zigman's Obituary
Ray Zigman, 84, of Palm Isles in Boynton Beach passed away Monday September 2, 2019. Formerly of Plainview, Long Island, Ray was an active member of his Palm Isles community where among his many contributions was starting a men’s Canasta club and participating in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). In retirement Ray found a “second act” and became a substitute school teacher in which he found great enjoyment and satisfaction. He loved when a former student would recognize him around town and greet him as “Mr. Z.” Ray was the adoring husband of Sylvia, his wife of 60 years; the devoted father of Alan Zigman and David (Stacy) Zigman; the loving grandfather of Jake and Kyle; and dear brother of Carol Hoyt. Chapel services will be held at 1:45 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 5808 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33484 followed by interment in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Rabbi Andrew Rosenkrantz of Temple Beth Torah in Wellington will officiate. Those wishing to honor Ray with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center, 2290 10th Avenue North, Suite 404, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
