Raymond Jack Mazer's Obituary
Raymond J. Mazer, born June 24, 1923 passed away January 27, 2024 at the age of 100. Preceded in death by his son Alan Jay Mazer, his parents Rose Feldman Mazer, and Nathan Mazer, and sister Edna Mazer Tarnoff. He graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1948. In 1944 he married the love of his life (of seventy nine years) Lynnette Wilder Mazer, and moved to Petersburg, VA (Camp Lee) where he was stationed during WWII. They resided in Glenside for almost 50 years, where he practiced Podiatry. Ray was on the staff of Abington Memorial Hospital, President of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association, President of Old York Road Temple-Beth Am, and played impressive leadership roles in his private and professional life and most especially at Hunter’s Run in Boynton Beach Florida, where he retired in 1993. He was an avid golfer until he was 96, and worked out at the gym! Survived by his wife , Lynnette Wilder Mazer, of Boynton Beach, daughters Carol Dershaw (Dr. Stuart) of Huntington Valley, PA Jody Franco (Dr. Kenneth) Ninety Six, SC. Also survived by grandchildren Chad Dershaw, (Susanne) North Barrington, IL, Ariann Bernstein (Brad) Penn Valley, PA, Samantha Katz (Jason) Ardmore, PA, and Jonathan Franco of Atlanta. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Alexa and Trevor Bernstein, and Sydney and Nathaniel Katz. Services are at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach at 2:00 Monday January 29th. Military Internment at a later date.
