Being a new RN to the hospital and floating to another unit for the first time seemed overwhelming but it was there I had the privilege of meeting Rebecca. . We struck up a very special friendship. In the months that followed I found inspiration in many of her gifts and attributes she shared but particularly her deep love and admiration toward her family. Never before had I heard anyone speak so reverently and devotedly about her parents and brother. Despite bearing with many hardships including constant pain, she put her love into action by knitting gorgeous colorful afghans. i will always treasure mine. Rebecca, I love you and thank you for sharing with me your beautiful heart, your intellect, your sweet child-like and fighting determined spirit, your desires and dreams…..now to be realized more than anyone can imagine.
