Richard Dorfman's Obituary
Richard Seth Dorfman, 80, of Lake Worth, FL (formally of Medford, NJ/ Berwyn, PA/ Ocean City, NJ) passed away on July 19, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side. Born on January 28, 1944 in New York, NY, he was a devoted husband to Laurie for 52 years, and a loving father to Justin, Alison, Jessica, and Adam.
He had a love of learning that included obtaining his MBA while working a full-time job after having his first child. Dad was hard working and dedicated. He spent 58 years working, starting in the trenches of inventory and rising to become the chief financial officer of multiple large corporations. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.
Dad’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed skiing in his early years, spending time on Cape Cod, riding his motorcycle, kayaking in Ocean City, NJ, and golfing later in life. His love for fitness was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Dorfman, son Justin Dorfman and wife Amy, daughter Alison Kostecki and her husband Vince, daughter Jessica Cheney and her husband Josh, son Adam Dorfman and his wife Megan, 11 grandchildren (Connor, Julianna, Ryan, Cody, Samantha, Ryder, Cameron, Colton, Cason, Brady, Grayson), brother John Dorfman and his wife Carole, and many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father Nathan Dorfman, mother Bertha Dorfman, and sister Karen Dentz.
A funeral will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach, Florida on Monday July 22, 2024 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, a cause close to Dad’s heart.
