Rita Bagus' Obituary
Rita Bagus, 99, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away April 6, 2025.
She was born in Chicago, IL on July 21, 1925, to George & Vera Evans.
Rita met her husband, Elbert (Al), in kindergarten and married after World War II (1947.) They were married for 63 years. They moved to Rockford, IL in 1954 to start their retail store Union Hall. Both Rita and Al were very active in the Jewish community at Temple Beth-El in Rockford serving as head of the Sisterhood and the Temple president respectively. They retired and moved to the Hamlet in Delray Beach, Florida in 1980.
Rita studied and pursued her love of sculpture which is proudly displayed throughout their home. Rita and Al cherished their extensive community of family and friends and traveled and sailed the world extensively.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elbert Bagus, and grandson Benjamin;
and is survived by her loving sons, Stuart Bagus and Kenneth (Patricia) Bagus; cherished grandchildren, Bridget, Jordan, Hannah, Kelsey, Scott, Maxwell, Elsie, Chris and Charlie;
and adored great -grandchildren,
Caelen, Roan, Gus, J.D., Landry, Russell, Meyer, Wren, Mira, & Vea
