Dr. Altman seems such a sweet man. Here is his appearance on a very funny episode of the Tonight Show:
One day Dr. Altman came home with a baby lion (I think it was in an online photo). It wasn't too strange as he always brought something new home. (BTW - I loved playing with Nino). I asked if I could take the cat for a walk! So we chained him up and out the front door we went. But he also had a great dane (I forget the name), a monster dog that jumped on the front door window just as we left the house. It scared the cat which then wrapped itself around my leg and took a bite out my thigh. Dr Altman saw all this from the window. If he were calm, I would have been OK. But he was worried I would drop the leash. Seeing his face, I was freaking out. He pried the cat off my leg and we laughed for hours. I still have the holes. It was such a fond memory that I can experience it just by closing my eyes. His passing made me remember hundreds of stories that all came flooding back. I'm so sorry I can't tell him how wonderful a man and friend he was to me back in Merrick. My heart goes out to the all the girls and especially to Lynn.

From the time I have known you, you’ve touched my heart with your charming personality. You have given me belly laughs that will last a lifetime. The next time we race, you won’t need your scooter! You have made an indelible impression on me. I’m very lucky to have had the time I did with you. You Rest In Peace now and go dance with the rest of the angels.
With love and affection, Lea❤️
