Bob and I were fellow counselors at Finney HS in Detroit. Bob was one of the dearest people I have ever known. He helped me out so much because I had a large caseload with a lot of responsibilities. Daily, he assisted me as though he was my personal secretary! Bob was such a genuinely kind man. He and Iris invited me to their home in Florida and treated me with such love and kindness after my husband died and wanted me to move there near them. I am so saddened by his loss. I feel like a part of me has been taken, that is how much I valued his friendship. I extend to Iris and their children my thoughts and love. I would very much like to talk to Iris.May God bless her and all of their family.

I remember meeting the Grant family in the mid 1940's. Marty and I met in the eighth grade, and we became good friends almost immediately. While that friendship has survived all of these years, my visit to the Grant home will always stand out in my memory. Mrs. Grant was the most gracious and friendly of the moms I had met in the neighborhood. Theirs was not a house; it was a home, filled with energy and love. I don't know how she remained pleasant and relaxed with four active boys to care for. Little Bobby was just an infant, but he was laughing and giggling with his brothers. Like his brothers, I knew that his family would be proud of their Dad. I know that Marty has always been proud of his brothers Robert, Sheldon and Arnold. I was looking forward to seeing Bob's family on this trip, but I never expected that it would be like this. Please accept my sincere condolences.Allen Halper
