ROBERT KATZ's Obituary
Our beloved Robert Katz passed away on Sunday April 25 at the age of 82. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Glendale, New York on Thursday April 29 at 1:00 pm.
Bob was born on December 23, 1938, to Harry and Mary Katz. He grew up in Queens, New York, and when his father passed away, he took over his father’s business when he was only 18.
As a teenager, he met and fell in love with Linda Stolper, who lived just a few blocks away. Married soon after, Bob and Linda were a devoted couple for over 60 years.
Bob was a proud and successful businessman, for over 40 years owning and operating Junction Rug in Corona, New York. Even after retirement, he continued doing what he loved, working at Home Depot and then building a successful house-sitting business in the Palm Beach area. Bob was never too busy to help out with a repair or house advice.
Bob was also devoted to his family. He took enormous pride in the successes of his children. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to amusement parks, building sandcastles, and watching them perform in sports, dance and music.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many. Everyone who knew him admired him and he will be terribly missed. Bob is survived by his wife Linda, his sister Phyllis, his son Stuart and daughter-in-law Jennifer, son Howard and daughter-in-law Jacqueline, son David, and his grandchildren Justin, Caitlyn, Aidan, Bennett and Sydney.
