ROBERT ALFRED SPATZIER
March 28, 1935 – June 15, 2025
Robert (Bob) Alfred Spatzier, age 90, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away
peacefully on June 15, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Irvington, New Jersey and lived in Livingston, New Jersey for
many years before retiring to Lake Worth, Florida in 1998. Bob completed his
higher education with a degree from The College of New Jersey after his
military service. He was employed with New Jersey Commission for the Blind
and Visually Impaired, Newark New Jersey and the State of New Jersey
Department of Corrections.
Bob was a Korean War Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a life-long body
builder, earning the “Mr. Northern New Jersey” title as a young man. He was
an avid golfer and was a ranger at several golf facilities in the Lake Worth area.
He was a role model and known to his friends and family for being the best
joke-teller around, and for his wise counsel.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Helen Spatzier, brothers
Charlie and Bill Spatzier, his wife Beverly and daughter Renee. Bob is survived
by his beloved wife Barbara (Shapiro) with whom he shared 51 years of
marriage; daughters Gwen and Julie and fiancéAntonio Lopez; twin grandsons
Richard Gilmore and wife Kayla and Brent and Araceli Gilmore ; sister Patricia
Mongiello; 7 great-grandchildren (Emily, Nathan, Natalie, Ethan, Lily, Jack,
Airies) and, many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Beth Israel
Memorial Chapel, 11150 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, FL. Internment to follow at
the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth.
