I have known Rob for over 20 years as my hairdresser, confidant, and dear friend. I am so very saddened to have learned of his passing, which, I see, happened a week after I saw him.
I have a beautiful memory of that last time: I told him about the opera Turandot that I had just seen and mentioned that it has the most wonderful aria in the opera world. But I said I had it was somewhat disappointing to listen to it this time because I had always heard Pavarotti singing it. And Rob immediately asked, "Nessun Dorma?" as he pulled it up on his phone. We both listened to it then and cried because that aria had always had that effect on both of us. This is my cherished memory of him. And I will always be comforted by it when I realize the emptiness that I experience by his loss.
My sincerest condolences to you, his family. I feel I know you as I acknowledge this great loss.
