Ron Peake's Obituary
On September 15, 2024, Gary Ronald Peake, 91, died peacefully of natural causes surrounded by his loving family. Ron served his country with honor as an Air Force pilot and member of the 135th Commando Unit. His long and fascinating civil service career began as a Foreign Service officer, including a tour in Panama for the State Department, and culminated as Director of Housing for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at the Department of the Interior. Ron was active in his community and served as Director of the Bowie Responsible Growth Coalition, and was campaign manager for several City Council members in Maryland. He is survived by his beloved wife, Suzanne, his four children Karen (Nils) Tcheyan, Benjamin (Leilia) Peake, Alyssa (Collin) Green, and Adam (Wendy) Peake, along with 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, his brother Michael (Gayle) and his cousin Marilyn Rollings (Hamlin York). Donations can be made to Planned Parenthood, ACLU, or the Morikami Museum in Boca Raton, FL.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
