Rose Mark (Markofsky)'s Obituary
Rose Mark, 93, of Marbella Lakes in Boca Raton passed away on Saturday February 11, 2017. Rose met her beloved Louie in her native Montreal. They were married for 69 years until his passing in 2011. Together they lived in Montreal and the Bahamas until they settled in Florida. Rose was well travelled, having visited Israel, South America, Asia, and Europe.
Rose was positive, upbeat, strong, quiet and possessed the strength of steel. Although afflicted with blindness the last 10 years of her life, it didn’t affect her spirit and her appreciation of life. Her family will miss her home made gefilite fish and all her other traditional cooking that she learned from her mother Bella Caplan.
Rose was the cherished mother of the late Ian Markofsky, Paula (John Kulick) Mark, and Stanley (Fern) Markofsky; the dear sister of Sylvia Baron, Naty Caplan, and the late Mory Caplan; and the loving grandmother of Anthony and Nikki Markofsky, Melissa and Jesse Nusbaum, Tiffany and Andrew Speyer, Brent and Carri Markofsky, Jarrod and Courtney Markofsky, Matthew and Lisa Markofsky and Zachary Markofsky and great grandmother of Max, Taylor, Jordan, Sydney, Mia, Noah, Austin, Lucas, Sasha, Chloe, Mason, Liam, Brooklyn, Dylan, and Charlie.
Chapel services are 9:30AM Tuesday February 14, 2017 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 5808 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33484 followed by interment in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Those wishing to honor Rose with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider the Boca Sabra Chapter of Hadassah.
