Roslyn Lippman's Obituary
Roslyn Tuman Lippman (1920-2016) was born in Brooklyn and spent her childhood and youth in the Upper Westside of Manhattan, a city she always loved: “There really is no place like New York,” she would often proudly proclaim. After her marriage to Herbert Lippman in 1946, she lived in Forest Hills, Queens, before moving to East Rockaway, Long Island, where she raised her son, Michael. In her retirement years, she and Herbert moved to the Fountains in Lake Worth FL.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ida Chester and Meyer Tuman, her husband, Herbert Lippman, her son, Michael Lippman, her longtime companion, Irving Libman, and her brother, Walter Tuman. She is survived by her nephews, Daniel Tuman and his wife Tatiana and Myron Tuman and his wife Ginny. She is also survived by a great nephew, Jeremy Tuman, and great nieces, Kathryn Tuman and Dawn Impellizzeri, along with four great-great nephews.
Roslyn enjoyed traveling, dancing, and Latin music, as well as being fashionably and elegantly attired. It comes as no surprise that she took special pride in her bright red hair–often remarking how she was her family’s only redhead. We will all miss Roz’s outgoing, friendly personality, her love for her family, and how the first sounds of a Cuban rhythm always drew from her an infectious smile and a gentle swaying of the hips–such was her love for life.
The family appreciates the many well-wishes, and directs any contributions to Trustbridge (Hospice of Palm Beach Country) or to the charity of your choice.
