Sally Charsinsky's Obituary
Sally Charsinsky, 92, born in Sowina, Poland last resided in Atlantic City, N.J. before moving to Delray Beach, Fl., passed away peacefully at her home on January 23, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband Max, her son Arthur, her daughter Dale Silver and her friend Elliott, her grandchildren Jonathan and Jordan Silver, her sisters Thelma Krugman, Jean Mass and Edith Perlmutter, her brother-in-law Dr. Marvin Mass, and her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Sally was devoted to her immediate and extended family, and was hard working, energetic and determined. She avoided internment in a camp by hiding and then working in Germany, and lectured at numerous high schools and temples about surviving the Holocaust. She was a proud supporter of the Foundation of Righteous Gentiles, one of whom hid her family members and was honored at a New York City gala at the Waldorf Astoria with Sally’s participation. She was also a member of Hadassah and Bnai Brith in her communities. Sally was a cancer survivor, and her love of life, family and charitable nature made her a true survivor in every sense of the word. Donations in her honor may be made to the University of Miami Sylvestor Cancer Center.
