When I think of my Uncle Sam, I also think of my father, Irving, because they had much in common. Uncle Sam was a gentle, sociable guy who loved his family and friends – and they loved him. Aunt Harriet was the love of his life. Together they journeyed through life helping others; accepting everyone as they were; and appreciating and applauding everyone’s achievements. In their company, I definitely felt loved and I wasn’t even one of their wonderful kids.My Uncle Sam will always be in my heart.
