Sandra Kaplan Okin, age 95, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026.
Born on January 2, 1931, in the Bronx, New York, Sandra was the beloved daughter of Philip and Clara Degenstein. She spent many years in New York before later moving to South Florida, where she created a life centered around family, warmth, and tradition.
Sandra was predeceased by her first husband, Seymour Kaplan, and her second husband, Alfred Okin. She is survived by her three devoted children, Peter Kaplan, Hal Kaplan, and Beth Braithwaite, and her 6 grandchildren who were truly the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life.
Sandra was known for her kindness, generosity, and incredibly strong will. She had a deep love for maintaining a beautiful home, took great pride in cooking for her family, and found joy in playing canasta. Elegant and refined, she remained a “fancy lady” throughout her life, carrying herself with grace and style to the very end.
Her presence brought love, strength, and comfort to those around her. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her children and her ability to make every moment feel special.
A small graveside interment will be held in her honor with her children.
Sandra will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who knew and loved her.
She will forever remain in our hearts.
