Sandra Mae Ricca's Obituary
Sandra Mae Ricca, 79, of Boca Raton, Fl passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 with her
children by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of her life in the surrounding
area prior to moving to South Florida in 1998 to be closer to her family. Sandra was a beautiful
lady, inside and out, and left us too soon. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Sandra, “The Rebel” was the little sister of the late Barbara Burdman and the daughter of the
late Irving and Ruth (Lubinsky) Zekser. To Sandra, there was no better friend in the world than
her sister. In life they shared so much laughter, love, tears and devotion. When her sister
married the late Stanley Burdman, she gained a loving brother-in-law.
Sandra graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 and worked as a secretary until devoting her
life to raise her children, Gregg and Danielle. Once grown she enjoyed many cherished
adventures with her adult children. Sandy returned to the workforce as an executive secretary
for various companies. Never less than stunning, she lived her life with impeccable style and
grace. Sandra was an avid tennis player, reader and collector of antiques. She loved her cats,
white tigers, dark chocolate, shoes, the color lavender, orchids, country line dancing, watching
Jeopardy, Pavarotti, and all things fancy…. with a special affection for Mr. Jon Bon Jovi. Sandra
was a social person who had a circle of long-time friends who meant the world to her. They
enjoyed a lifetime of memories, filled with adventures, laughter and tears.
Sandra’s greatest joy began with the birth of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She fell
in love with being a Meemaw and a Geega and devoted the rest of her life to being their biggest
fan. They were truly the loves of her life.
Sandra is survived by her children Gregg Ricca, Danielle Griffiths and her husband Tom; nephew
Jay Burdman and his wife Joyce and their daughter Jade; niece Sheryl Burdman; grandson Blaise
and wife Brittney and their children Leo and Silvio, and grandchildren Madison, Zach, and Giana.
