SANDY KLEINER's Obituary
Sandy Kleiner, age 74, of New York And New Jersey notoriety, escaped the realm of mere mortals on
April 20, 2021. As with most superheroes, the cause of death is unknown. However, a bite from a
radioactive spider can not currently be ruled out, and representatives from the Marvel Cinematic
Universe are en route to confirm or deny. Sandy is currently explaining to the grim reaper the proper
way to fix his house. Grim (that’s what Sandy calls him now) is taking furious notes.
Sandy was known for his selfless service to others, a beloved and cherished man in his community and
for his strange choice of attire - just shorts and a t-shirt - which coincidentally, is how he asked to be
buried (with no shoes, although his son suggested socks and sandals - a joke at which Sandy would
surely have rolled his eyes).
Sandy loved his family, the beach, his friend, his family, his friends, the beach… he was generous to a
fault, a pussy cat at heart, and yet he sugar-coated absolutely nothing. To quote Winston Churchill, “He
was a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.” This was none more evident in the philosophical
waxing and waning of what has become famously known as the “Sandy Shuffle”.
Sandy is survived by his beloved wife, Michele Kleiner; loving father of David Kleiner and daughter-in-law
Marnie Lewis, daughters Elena Kleiner and Jill Kleiner; cherished grandfather of Ava Kleiner; dear brother
of Harvey Kleiner and brother-in-law Peter Kalish, and sister Eleanore Roizman.
He was loved and will be missed. He has left a hole in all our hearts.
Funeral service will be held at graveside Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 1:30 pm, Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 State Road 7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
