Sara Eizak's Obituary
Sara Eizak
July 26, 1929 – February 23, 2026
Sara Eizak, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Holocaust survivor, passed away peacefully at home in Delray Beach, Florida, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 96.
Born and raised in Lipcze, Czechoslovakia, a village in the Carpathian Mountains, Sara moved to Budapest as a young teenager to help support her mother. Soon after, she was captured by the Nazis and deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Through extraordinary strength and resilience, she survived until liberation in April 1945.
After the war, she immigrated to Israel, served in the Israeli Army, and in Haifa, she married the love of her life, Aryeh, in 1952. Together they built a home grounded in love, hard work, and devotion to family, welcoming their children, Elana and Eli.
In 1968, the family made the difficult decision to move to New York, when Aryeh received a promotion at work that allowed him to spend more time at home and less time traveling.
Sara created a warm and welcoming home centered around Jewish tradition, holiday gatherings, and her beloved kitchen table.
Known for her delicious chicken soup, schnitzel, and poppyseed roll, Sara found her greatest joy in feeding and hosting those she loved.
She carried a radiant smile, a contagious laugh, and a spirit that chose joy despite the darkness she had endured. She was fluent in five languages, loved fashion, music, travel, poetry, the news, and an occasional visit to the casino where she loved the roulette table and the slot machines.
She was a devoted mother to Elana and Eli; a loving grandmother to Adam, Daniel, Jackie, Michael, and Matthew; and a proud great-grandmother to Jordyn, Berkley, Rafaeli, Odelia, Chloe, Yonit, and David. Her greatest pride was watching her family grow.
Sara’s life stands as a testament to resilience, hope, and love. From surviving the Holocaust to building generations of family, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and strength.
May her memory be a blessing.
