Saul Meltzer's Obituary
Saul Meltzer, 91, passed away Thursday October 4, 2018. Saul lived at Menorah House in Boca Raton for the past five years. Prior to that, he was a resident of Las Verdes in Delray Beach where he served as president of the Forsythia section. A proud WW II US Navy veteran, Saul came to Florida in 1990 from Hicksville, NY. Saul was an avid reader, sometimes consuming five books in a week and was very computer literate, using his computer skills to construct a genealogy record of his family. He also was an enthusiastic fan of the NY Times crosswords and possessed an uncanny sweet tooth. In New York , Saul was a long time Boy Scout leader and inspired two of his sons to become Eagle Scouts and one a Life Scout. Saul was the beloved husband of the late Lenore for 44 years and the late Shirley for 18 years; the devoted father of the late Alan (Carla) Meltzer, Laura (Kevin) Koenig, Steven(Barbara) Meltzer, Yoel (Stephanie) Meltzer, and Shirley’s children Sharon Locke, Chaya (Rabbi Tuvia) Teldon, and Anita (Ed) Stiles; grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 2. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10 AM on Monday October 8, 2018 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Boynton Beach.
