Selma Elterman's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we let you know about the passing of Selma Elterman, on Sunday, October 28th. She lived in Boynton Beach for 18 years.
She was 95, but since she believed that “…age was just a number to keep score,” she chose to say 59.
There was no one who loved life more than Selma. She called Florida “her paradise,” and she lived every day to the fullest, whether it was playing Mah-Jongg, Canasta, or Pan, volunteering at the Bargain Box, getting together with family and friends, hanging out with her cat, Mr. Wilson, playing croquet on Saturday mornings, traveling the world, indulging in popular culture, or riding her three wheeled bike.
She is survived by her brother, Sam, her sister, Evelyn, her 4 children: Judi, Vivienne, Joey and Eileen, her 7 grandchildren: Brandon, Alyssa, Danielle, James, Sarah, Leslie and Andie, and her 26 great grandchildren, including Olivia, Luke, Gracie, Alex, Max and Andrew, as well as 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennie, following a 63-year marriage.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 31st, at 1:00 pm, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, to be followed by burial at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens. 11520 State Road 7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
Shiva will be at Selma’s home, 7470 Chorale Road, Boynton Beach, following the graveside service until 8pm, and also at the same location on Thursday, November 1st, from 10 am – 5 pm.
She is already sorely missed.
