Sharon E Nottingham's Obituary
Sharon Elizabeth Nottingham, 78, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30, following a short illness at the Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon is survived by her loving daughter and son, Larissa Comis (David Swartz) of Newtown Square, PA, and Robert L. Comis Jr. (Jennifer Saun-ders) of Schoharie, NY, and her three beloved grandsons Sebastian Tis, Jackson Tis, and Nathaniel Tis of Newtown Square. She is survived by her brother William T. Nottingham (Adrienne Ronsoni) of Slingerlands, NY, her sister Bethany Geatrakas (Christos) of Mashpee, MA, and her nieces Nina Geatrakas (Mohammad Nourmohammadi), and Sara Geatrakas (Vince Pa-tram). She is also survived by her companion, Gary Elsner.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, William S. and Elizabeth (Dedell) Nottingham, her dear husband Gerald Pollock, and by her first husband Dr. Robert L. Comis.
Sharon was born on August 30, 1944 in Utica, NY. She was a graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Russell Sage College, and Syracuse University School of Library Science, where she received a Masters in Library Science. She worked as a librarian at the Solvay Public Library and in ad-ministration for the Onondaga County Public Library System. She served as the Director of the Liverpool Public Library for many years.
Sharon and Jerry were avid cruisers, traveling to near and faraway places throughout their many years together, including two world cruises. Many months were spent on the seas, bringing them experiences they treasured together.
Sharon was also an accomplished and enthusiastic artist. She shared her beautiful photos, paintings and poetry with the many people she loved. She was a master quilter for many years, and her family has a great collection of her exquisite and creative quilts to treasure.
A memorial service and burial of ashes will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that anyone who wishes to send a me-morial, please make a donation to the Liverpool Public Library
