SHEILA HELLMAN's Obituary
Sheila Hellman was born June 13, 1935 to Abraham Katz and Ida Satarsky- Katz; the youngest of her siblings, Timmy, Molly and Betty.
In her teenage years , Sheila was supposed to go on a blind date with Stanley. Her friend was supposed to go with Stanley's friend. But Stanley's friend said to Stanley that the other girl was better for him and that he should take Sheila. The rest was history! Sheila and Leo married in 1955 and remained married for 63 years until the passing of Leo.
After they married, Leo joined the army and Sheila remained living with her parents. When Leo returned, they started their lives together. Sheila and Leo started their own family by giving birth to their daughter, Debbie.0 Soon after they welcomed their son, Brian. Their family was complete.
Sheila has always been the glue that has held her extended family together. She always arranged family gatherings and never forgot birthdays, anniversaries , weddings and births – including her many beloved nieces and nephews. Sheila loved her family fiercely. It brought her such great joy when her own children gave her grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Brendan. There wasn't enough she could do for her grandchildren.
Sheila was a kind, loving person, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and an amazing mother in law. She always put family first, unconditionally. Sheila was a great lifelong friend to many. She was extremely spiritual and an active cancer society supporter.
The family will have a graveside service at cemetery, Mount Ararat in Farmingdale, New York, August 10. 2022.
