Sheila Blossom Weitzman's Obituary
Weitzman, Sheila B. age 90 of Boynton Beach Florida, passed away on July
7th, 2023. Sheila was preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur after
62 years of happy marriage. Loving mother of David Weitzman (Claire) and
Stephen Weitzman; Cherished grandmother of Hannah, Shane, Sophie and
Gabriel; Dear sister of Suzanne Klirsfeld( Sheldon). Sheila grew up in
Brooklyn, attended Erasmus Hall High School’s performing arts program, and
was a talented singer. She toured all over the country with the Ted Lewis
Orchestra in the early 1950s, at one point having the chance to meet Frank
Sinatra, which was one of many highlights of her life. After marrying Arthur
and settling down in Canarsie, Brooklyn, she raised her two sons. When the
family moved out to East Islip on Long Island, Sheila entered the workforce as
a bookkeeper at an electronics firm where she was employed for many years
before retiring to Florida in the 1990s. For many years, she volunteered her
time at the Del Ray Medical Center helping cardiac patients in their
rehabilitation, offering them emotional support and encouragement. Services
will be held 9:00am on Monday morning, July 10th, 2023, at Beth Israel
Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach Florida 33437 followed by
interment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 State Road 7, Boynton
Beach Florida 33473. Those wishing to honor Sheila with a memorial
