Joseph Marak
Shelly was my scoutmaster for our composite Boy Scout troop that represented part of the Northeast region at the National Eagle Scout Bicentennial Celebration in Washington DC in July of 1976. We spent two great weeks together along with some of the finest Eagle Scouts I have ever known to include Shelly's son, Gary. Truly an unforgettable experience.
It's been a few weeks shy of 50 years since our troop of Eagle Scouts and leaders celebrated 200 years of our great nation. These memories I hold dear and will cherish as long as I live. I had the opportunity to see Shelly, Gary, and several other members of our troop when I visited the 1977 National Boy Scout Jamboree at Moraine State Park near Pittsburgh, PA.
God Bless you Shelly and all my fellow Eagle Scouts and dedicated leaders. Joseph J. "Jay" Marak (Eagle Scout Class of 1973, Housatonic Council, CT.
