Shelly Franklin's Obituary
Shelly Franklin, age 89, of Villa Borghese in Delray Beach passed away Monday September 12, 2016. Shelly ran his familiy’s business, Jack and Charles’ Men’s Shop on 18th Avenue and 64th Street in Brooklyn for many years where he was known as “The Mayor of Eighteenth Avenue.” Jack and Charles’ was a 62 year old institution and a leading menswear shop. Here in Florida, Shelly owned and operated a menswear booth at the Festival Flea Market. Along with Deanna, his dear wife of more than 44 years, they formerly resided in Valencia Isles and the Polo Club. Shelly was the beloved father of Adrienne (Gordon) Schauer and Gary (Colette) Franklin as well as Deanna’s children, Douglas Bandman and Lisa Bandman; the devoted grandfather of Brandon Franklin, Gregory Franklin, Traci Fariello and Cori Ceci; the cherished great grandfather of Zachary Ceci, Brianna Fariello, Kaeli Fariello, and Isabella Fariello; and brother of Barry Franklin and Gloria Roth. Chapel services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 5808 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33484 followed by entombment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, Florida.
