SHIRLEY B ROSEN's Obituary
Shirley Rosen, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She was born to Mary and Julius Jaffe on October 22, 1934 in St. Augustine, Florida, where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood. Shirley married Howard Rosen on April 11, 1954 at the historic Ponce de Leon Hotel in St. Augustine. They soon settled in Miami, Florida where Howard had lived during his high school years and where he opened his dental practice. They raised their five children in Coral Gables and Pinecrest.
Shirley was active in the women’s auxiliary of the Alpha Omega dental fraternity. She was an awesome cook and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an ace bridge and mahjong player. She loved to win and almost always did. Everyone wanted to be her partner. No one wanted to be her opponent. She even taught others how to play.
In recent years she really enjoyed living at the Palace in Coral Gables where she spent time with old friends and made many new dear friendships as well.
She will be remembered for her grace, elegance, and friendly southern charm. She is survived by her children, Lori Dubbin (Sam), Karen Mauskop (Alex), Dr. Audrey Levine (Dr. Larry), Craig Rosen (Cammi), Dr. Charles Rosen (Lili), her sister and brother-in-law Margorie and Dr. Arthur Sitrin, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Mom, you are loved and will be missed. Services and a celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Temple Beth Am on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Shirley’s memory to Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest, Florida https://www.tbam.org/.
