Sonia Caplan's Obituary
Sonia Caplan, daughter of Leo and Eva Sidlin, died on March 7, 2025, at the age of 93. She lived the first half of her life in Baltimore, Maryland, and the second half in Boca Raton, Florida, with her beloved husband of over 60 years, Alvin Caplan, who predeceased her. Sonia is survived by three children: daughter Ilene Marcus and husband David Marcus; son Scott Caplan and wife Karen Caplan; and daughter Janis Gordon, as well as nine grandchildren: Abe Gordon, Eva Gordon, Ross and Hannah Gordon, Ali and Steve Chartan, Lee Marcus and Mariel Henkoff , Adam Caplan, Brandon Caplan, Kelsey Walden and Lee Benzel, and Natalie Walden. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Asher Gordon, Ansley Gordon, Reese Chartan, Jade Chartan, and Ever Marcus. Her greatest joy was her family, and she will be greatly missed by them. Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 9, at 2:15 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, and the family will sit shiva on Sunday after the service in the community room at Laurel Oaks in Boca West and on Monday at the home if Ilene and David Marcus from 2-5.
