Stephan Pavey's Obituary
Stephan Pavey, 85, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. Steve was born on January 26, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, to Betty and Eli Pavey. After earning his bachelor’s degree from New York University, he spent most of his career in the scrap metal business, founding Rockmet Metals which he led for over twenty-five years. To his customers and clients Steve was known for his deal making, creativity and unwavering work ethic.
In 1965, Steve married the love of his life, Iris Marcus. Together they raised two children, Douglas and Glenn, and built a life filled with laughter, traveling, cards, cooking and love. Steve, was a loving father-in-law to Erin and a devoted grandfather to Rachel and Ethan. His kindness, humor, and steady presence touched everyone who knew him.
Steve is survived by his wife of 61 years, Iris; their son, Glenn (Erin) and his grandchildren, Rachel and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Betty, his siblings, Eugene and Iris and his beloved son Douglas.
Steve will be laid to rest with a graveside service on Thursday May 14 at 2:15pm at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tamarack Camps https://tamarackcamps.com in Steve’s honor.
