Sydelle Trope Eskin's Obituary
Sydelle Trope Eskin, or Syd as she was known to her friends, was born in Borough Park, Brooklyn in 1937, the daughter of Golda and Max Trope. She attended PS 160, Pershing Junior High, and Ft. Hamilton High. She also attended Sholem Aleichem School learning Yiddish Literature. She loved her Jewish upbringing and especially loved Yiddish culture. She married Mel Ornstein in 1956 and they raised their three children in New Jersey. They eventually made their way to Lake Worth, Florida
In addition to being fluent in Yiddish, while in her 60’s, Sydelle taught herself piano and eventually could play any song by ear. She also became a landscape artist who drew her inspiration from Monet and other impressionist artists. Sydelle loved flower arranging, gardening, as well as decorating. After being widowed for many years, she eventually found love again with Bob Eskin and they shared many happy times together traveling and in their Willow Bend community.
She was an active member of Temple Beth Tikvah in Greenacres and celebrated her adult Bat Mitzvah there She could be found every Shabbat morning there and loved being part of the chorus.
Sydelle leaves behind her daughter and best friend, Amy, a son, Mark, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Debbie Jacobs and her sister Jeanette Maddon. She also leaves behind all her very good friends and staff at Luxe.
A private burial will take place at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach.
