Wallace Musoff's Obituary
Wallace Musoff, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 2, 2023, a few days before his 93rd birthday. Born on April 8, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, to Abraham and Dorothy Musoff, he was the older of two siblings, preceded in death by his beloved brother, Howard.
Wally's love of his life was his wife, Sandy, whom he married on November 14, 1965. Together, they had three sons, Jay (Stephanie), Scott (Cindy), and Adam (Jodi). Wally's family was his pride and joy.
While attending City College in New York, he was a pilot with the Civilian Air Patrol. After graduation, he became a Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department, where he led many high profile criminal investigations. Wally was featured in the book Syndicate Wife for safely protecting a witness for the government as they secretly crossed the Atlantic to France by steamship on the S.S. United States. Wally later attended New York University Law School at night and became a special counsel for the IRS before starting his private law practice in the 1970s. He became a renowned criminal tax trial lawyer with a cast of clients from Wall Street titans to the more notorious. Clients appreciated Wally’s unvarnished advice – “Go to Wally,” they would say when one of them got into a jam.
Wally had a passion for boating, taking his family on adventures from Annapolis to Nantucket on their boat Jawss. He served as the commodore of Atlantis Yacht Club in Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, where he and his family made many life-long friendships. Some of his best family memories were made on his boat.
After retiring to Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida, Wally became a prominent figure in his community, serving on the Board of Governors and as a past-president of the Landings community. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, and going out for steak dinners with friends.
Wally’s love for life and his family and friends was apparent to everyone who knew him. Wally had a uniquely optimistic outlook on life and never complained. He cherished every meal and always said it was the best he ever had. Everyone loved Wally, but perhaps none loved him more than his seven grandchildren, Charlie, Will, Dani, Jamie, Jenna, Jesse, and Eric.
