Zelda Bowen's Obituary
Zelda Bowen of Boynton Beach, Florida, formally of Brooklyn and Long Island passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. Dear wife of Arthur Bowen, husband of 70 years. Beloved mother of Bonnie Bowen and Scott Bowen and the late Sherry Berman Robinson. Cherished grandmother of Alex, Melissa, Taylor and Rachel. Adored sister of Lewis Handelsman and the late Randy Cutler. Zelda was a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 30 years on Long Island and a leader of the Teachers Association. She was an active member of PAP Corps, Na’Amat. She enjoyed playing bridge and canasta and was an avid reader. She loved people and devoted her life to making other lives richer. Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel at 11115 Jog Road on Friday, November 23 at 11:45 AM with interment at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth following. The family will be welcoming people at their home from 3 to 6pm Friday, and from 1-4 pm on Sunday and Monday. In addition, minyan will be observed Sunday and Monday promptly at 7 pm. The family requests donations be made to PAP Corps.
