Alan Harvey Oremland's Obituary
Obituary for Alan Harvey Oremland
February 2, 1936-June 17, 2021
Alan Harvey Oremland passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2021, surrounded by family and friends. He was 85. Born to Murray and Rosalie Oremland and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Oremland, his two sons and their wives, Leonard & Robin Oremland, Howard & Cari Oremland, and his brother, Ron Oremland. Alan was also an adored grandfather to Matthew, Rachel, Zachary, and Josh Oremland.
In brief and brevity interests, Alan was the consummate husband, father, grandfather and “shirt off his back” friend to all he touched in his remarkably joyous and fruitful time on this blue orb, a man who quietly (most of the time) enjoyed the simple things in life, love, and laughter. A successful private businessman in the retail textile trades, Alan most enjoyed spending time chasing (with determination) the little white ball in green pastures, listening to classical music, and studying history (he had a remarkable fondness for all things Winston Churchill, and was a frequent lecturer as an expert on this historic leader). Perhaps most impressive was Alan’s gift as a skilled craftsman…he spent countless hours constructing model planes (early in life) and intricate sailing ships, legacies that will stand the test of time for all to enjoy!
