Barry Melvin Sadoff's Obituary
Barry M. Sadofsky, was born in Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada
on July 17, 1950. At a few years old, moved to Chicago Illinois where he grew up, went to school, and embodied his home. In 1969, he officially became a United States citizen, and joined the United States Navy. He served proudly, feeling it was his duty as a citizen to serve. Barry Sadoff is a Viet-Nam veteran. He was married to the love of his life until her death. A father of two, and grandfather to two. Barry worked hard as a truck driver providing for his family until he had to retire for medical reasons.
He had a few passions. One was Teddy Bears. He collected many and to many people that is how he was known. Another passion was motorcycling, and protecting the rights of motorcyclists. For over 30 years he was active in that. First with A.B.A.T.E of Illinois, then A.B.A.T.E of Florida. Through both organizations he had made many friends, went on many rides, and supported many charities.
Another organization that Barry Sadoff was involved in was the American Legion. Though not as much in the more recent years, but previously was both a Legionnaire and a Legion Rider. Through the American Legion he was able to find camaraderie with fellow veterans that understood his experiences. Which led him to being involved with the Patriot Guard Riders to honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as other veterans that have passed on.
Barry Sadoff was proud of his children, but even more proud to become a grandfather. He loved, and helped guide them. Was there for them when a helping hand was needed. Most of all, he loved them.
Barry Sadoff is survived by his daughter Hollis Sadoff, his grandsons Erik Sadoff and Damien Kern, and his brothers Joseph Sadoff and Fred Sadoff.
