Sandy Branfman
Goodbye to my Bradford Street friend, It seems like only yesterday you and I were actively engaged with one another doing the things children do during the long, hot Brooklyn summers, You were my first “best friend” and together we made childhood memories - roller skating, bicycle riding, watching endless hours of tv in your parents air conditioned living room, spending all day Saturday at the Biltmore watching double features and cartoons. But what I remember most about our friendship is that whenever I needed a favor or help of some kind, you were always available no matter how busy you were. You never tried to put me off for a time that might have been more convenient for you. You never said “No,I can’t help you.” Beverly, I was always a tad jealous of your creativity, artistic ability, intelligence and confidence, but I never let that jealousy interfere with our relationship because we always had such a good time growing up together.
I had hoped that we would reconnect at some point in the future. I am saddened that won’t ever happen.
Alvin, please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and David.
