BEVERLY LEVY's Obituary
Beverly Levy of Commack NY and Lake Worth FL succumbed to heart failure at the age of 77. Beverly is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alvin, son David (Jennifer Verkamp) and grandson, Tyson; brother Neal Teman (Bonnie) and sister Barbara Berg (George).
Beverly was born and grew up in Brooklyn, where she and Alvin met as teenagers. Beverly earner her BA at Brooklyn College and Master degrees from LIU Post in Education and School Counselor. Beverly taught Mathematics and was a Guidance Counselor in secondary school and also was a track coach, retiring after 31 years of service.
Beverly loved to exercise, ran in 5K events, played tennis and golf, and later in life, took long brisk walks. Beverly had a talent for painting and enjoyed knitting hats and sweaters for friend’s children. Beverly enjoyed playing bridge and held the rank of Gold Life Master. At home Beverly was an avid reader and away from home it was bridge tournaments and Maj Jong with friends. Beverly loved the travel that she and Alvin did, including living in Cambridge, England for a summer, and traveling the world while attending Bridge Championships. Beverly would help Alvin as he administered at bridge tournaments, as well as giving him emotional support. Beverly also served as an administrator in the bridge world, serving on the board and as treasurer of the Long Island Nassau-Suffolk Bridge Association as well as taking part in various charity events.
Beverly loved life, was full of energy and always had a smile. A caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
