It is with a heavy heart to hear of the recent passing of former County Commissioner Burt Aaronson. Commissioner Aaronson was a longtime supporter of Special Olympics Florida-Palm Beach County and was instrumental in the development of the “Home of Special Olympics”, the Club Managers Association of America Therapeutic Recreation Complex. A member of the Special Olympics Florida-Palm Beach County “Hall of Fame’ and Honorary Chair of our Management Team, Commissioner Aaronson gathered the support of his Gleneagles Country Club community for the naming of the Gleneagles Aquatics Center at the Complex. He was the conduit to the relationship with the Club Managers Association of America, who the Complex is named and who continue to support Special Olympics today. He was a true humanitarian and a special friend to our athletes, the legacy that he has left will never be forgotten.Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Aaronson Family.
