Evelyn Bandel's Obituary
Evelyn Bandel, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on August 15, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Manny for nearly 69 years; cherished and devoted mother of the late Bob (Terri) Bandel and Steve (Elyse) Bandel; adored grandmother of Jeffrey, Jake and Alexandra Bandel; devoted daughter to the late Sadie and the late Harry Nagel; and loving sister to Rosalyn (Saul) Elfman, the late Barbara Strachman and the late Conrad “Bobby” Nagel. Evelyn was also a precious aunt to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to so many.
Born in Boston in July 1931, Evelyn relocated to the Bronx, NY, upon her marriage to Manny, with the family later resettling in Mamaroneck, NY. For 26 years, Evelyn taught pre-school in the Bronx, committed to her work with some of the city’s neediest children. After retiring and relocating to Delray Beach, FL, she continued her dedication to helping others as a volunteer and companion to the elderly through Jewish Family Services.
Evelyn was full of love and life, and her smile could light up the room. She will be an everlasting presence to all who knew and loved her.
Internment will take place Tuesday, August 18, 2020, 11:15 am at Star of David Memorial Gardens, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL.
