My condolences to Ika's family. I am the nurse-consultant who put Ruddy and Ika into the home care business and licensed by the NY State Department of Health. Lovely people to work with, I was so proud of their professional growth in the health care field. I miss them dearly.
Ika and Ruddy were my home care clients for decades. It was a dream of theirs to become licensed by the NY State Department of Health when home care licensure was in its infancy in NY State. I remain very proud of their accomplishments. They came to my house at the beach for our July 4th celebration in 1989 in Atlantic Beach and had a great time. Ruddy even met up with old friends from his former job in the automobile industry. I do remember getting a dreaded call from Ika regarding Ruddy's untimely passing. Ika was an innovator; in that she dared to do what was only dreamt by others.
My condolences to Ika's family. We had a great business relationship and friendship, which few would understand, except for dedicated nurses with business acumen, and I will always cherish it. And oh, how she loved her children and grandchildren. oxoxox
