DR. MARIO PETTI's Obituary
Dr. Mario Petti of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Atlantic Beach, NY, passed away on July 22, 2020 at the age of 93. Mario died peacefully after a brief battle with COVID-19.
Mario was born to Anita and Vencenzo Petti, in Brooklyn, NY. He had a half-brother named Eugene. Mario served in the army during World War II as a medic and later on attended medical school and became a well-respected physician.
When he wasn’t working Mario loved to spend time with his family. He loved eating out, sailing, playing tennis and golf and his Friday night card games. Mario was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was incredibly smart and well-read and loved to engage in thoughtful conversations. He was a terrific listener and gave honest and valuable advice. He was a truly genuine, caring man.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Petti, with who he was married for 50 years. He is survived by his devoted partner of 20 years Lucille Makstein, his son Dr. Eugene Petti and wife Rosemarie, his daughter Marla Levey and his grandchildren Evan, Alex, Gabrielle, Ryan, Karli and Kendall.
He will forever be in our hearts and will be tremendously missed.
